Here are some instructions for your appointment:

• Please read the instruction manual for your car seat and the applicable sections of your vehicle owner's manual and install your car seat following these instructions prior to your appointment.
• Please bring the car seat instructions and vehicle owner's manual to your appointment.
• Plan to bring your child/children to the appointment if possible so the technician can make sure the seat is appropriate and adjusted correctly for the child.
• If expecting, schedule your appointment six to eight weeks prior to your due date.

You can check your car seat and your vehicle for recalls on the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) site below.  Also on the site there is the availability to check for tire and equipment recalls. Take a photo of the sticker on your child seat that has the seat model and date of manufacture or have the seat close to access that information. To check your vehicle, use your vehicle VIN number for a list of open recalls on your specific vehicle.

The New Hope Police Department currently has a car seat distribution program for low-income families. The seats for this program are available, while supplies last, for low-income families who reside in Minnesota who do not have access to free seats through health insurance or other means.

The income guidelines for this program are accessible through the link below. Appointments are required and will take at least one hour and possibly longer depending on the needs of the family.
