Don't Wait to Return Your Absentee Ballot!

Don't Wait to Return Your Absentee Ballot!
Posted on 10/14/2020

Absentee ballots are arriving in the mail for those who have already requested one. Due to the expected record-breaking number of people voting by mail, we encourage all voters to return their ballot as soon as they’ve completed it. This ensures your ballot arrives on time and gets counted.

Return Your Ballot By Mail
Due to COVID-19, voters are encouraged to return their ballots by mail. It’s a safe and easy way to vote and mailed ballots arrive complete with an included pre-paid envelope.

Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day (Nov. 3) and received by Nov. 10 to be counted.

Drop Off Your Ballot In Person
If voters are more comfortable dropping off their ballot in person, there are several options. If dropping off in person, please be prepared to wear a face covering and stay six feet apart at all times.

  • Ballots may be dropped off at New Hope City Hall (4401 Xylon Ave N)
  • Hennepin County offers a drop-off box at the Government Center and a drive-thru drop off at 625 4th Ave S (formerly the Thrivent Financial building) in downtown Minneapolis
  • Voters may drop off their ballot, or ballots for up to three other voters. When returning a ballot for someone else, you must show photo ID with your name and signature.
  • Ballots must be dropped off by 3 p.m. on Election Day

Please note that ballots cannot be dropped off at your polling place on Election Day.
