New Hope Awards Contract for 2021 Street Sweeping

At its March 22 meeting, New Hope City Council approved a contract with Allied Blacktop Company for 2021 spring and fall street sweeping services with a cost of $21,237.50. The biannual sweeping improves public safety, water quality in our lakes and ponds, and city streets' appearance by removing trash, salt, and debris that builds up on streets and along gutters.

The city advertised for bids with a deadline for submission of March 5. The city received two bids by the deadline, with Allied Blacktop Company submitting the lowest responsible quote.

Weather permitting, spring sweeping is scheduled between April 12 and May 21, 2021, and fall sweeping between Oct. 18 and Nov. 19, 2021. During sweeping, the city asks that residents avoid parking on city streets. Residents are also reminded that it is a violation of New Hope City Code to dispose of yard waste or additional debris into the street or gutter.
