Pumpkin Composting

Turn Your Pumpkins into Compost
Posted on 10/29/2020
After the clock strikes midnight on Halloween, what does your pumpkin turn into? How about turning it into valuable compost?

Pumpkins are great to compost if you have a backyard compost bin. If you don’t, Hennepin Recycling Group has got you covered. From Nov. 1 until Nov. 8, New Hope residents may bring their pumpkins to Central Park in Brooklyn Park, across the street from the Brooklyn Park Operations & Maintenance Facility (8300 Noble Ave N).

Remember to remove all candles, candle wax and decorations before disposal. The pumpkins will be taken to a compost facility to be turned into dirt to make new pumpkins next year.
