On Wednesday, Governor Walz announced Emergency Executive Order 20-99, implementing the following dial-back measures to help slow the community spread of COVID-19:

  • All bars and restaurants will end dine-in service and operate exclusively with takeout or delivery.
  • Fitness centers will be closed.
  • Adult and youth sports practices and competitions will be paused (professional and collegiate sports will continue).
  • Weddings, funerals, and other similar planned ceremonies can be held with the current rules in place, but all receptions and gatherings around these ceremonies must be canceled or postponed.

As a result of the dial-back measures, the following facility closures and program cancelations are effective beginning Friday, Nov. 20 at 11:59 p.m.

New Hope Ice Arena  Closed from Nov. 21 – Dec. 18. This includes skating lessons, open skate, facility and ice rentals, and the indoor walking track. 
New Hope Community Gyms Closed from Nov. 21 through Dec. 20. All programs and rentals canceled during this period.
Parks & Recreation
Activities and Programming
In-person programming canceled through Dec. 18. Virtual programs and activity packs continue to be offered during this time. 
Parks, Trails and Playgrounds Open. Users are recommended to take precautions as playgrounds and shared surfaces are not sanitized, use at your own risk, Please wash and/or sanitize your hands after touching shared surfaces and do not use them if feeling sick. Users are asked to be courteous of others and follow all social distancing and additional guidelines set forth by the executive order.

The city of New Hope will continue to follow the guidance of experts at the Center for Disease Control and the Minnesota Department of Health regarding precautionary measure and actions taken.
