You may register to vote:
- Online at mnvotes.org
- In-person at New Hope City Hall, 4401 Xylon Avenue North
- By mail by downloading a voter registration form, completing the form and mailing it to Hennepin County Elections
Voter pre-registration ends 20 days prior to each election day
You must re-register if:
- Your name or address has changed
- You have not voted within the last four years
You may register to vote on election day with proper proof of residence.
Accepted proofs of residence within a precinct are:
- A valid Minnesota driver's license or learner's permit (or receipt of either) showing the correct/current address in the precinct
- A valid Minnesota identification card (or receipt) showing the correct/current address in the precinct
- A notice of late registration card mailed by election administration
- For students: A current student fee statement, student picture ID or student registration card showing an address in the precinct
- The oath of a pre-registered voter in the same precinct or a voter who registered on election day with a valid form of identification. A person who is vouched for may not vouch for another person
- An expired acceptable type of photo ID plus a document with current name and address (the document can also be shown electronically on a device such as a smartphone). Acceptable documents include a utility bill (due or dated within 30 days of election), banking or credit card statement, rent or mortgage payment, residential lease or rental agreement (must be valid through Election Day)
