The New Hope Police Department (NHPD) and the city of New Hope know the public is our greatest resource when it comes to reporting concerns, stopping crime and making New Hope a safer place for all who live, work and play in our community.
The NHPD offers tip411, technology enabling the public to share public safety information entirely anonymously. Tipsters can send a message about crime, suspicious activity or additional concerns via a free smartphone app, by text or online. Once the message is sent, the police department can respond- creating a completely anonymous two-way conversation.
Is it really anonymous? Yes. Unless users elect to provide their contact information. Any identifying information (phone numbers, IP addresses, etc.) is not recorded and cannot be accessed under any circumstances. Identifying information is never retained or registered by the third-party vendor. It cannot be obtained by law enforcement, even via subpoena or search warrant.
Tipsters can also sign up to receive communication from the police department, including crime alerts, safety advisories and reminders, general information and view an interactive crime map.
How Do I use tip411?
Always call 911 if you need immediate assistance or in an emergency, including, but not limited to, direct threats to safety and property. tip411 is not monitored 24/7.
